A rare George Harrison composition from 1968 that never made it onto The Beatles' White Album, which is a shame considering it's a better song compared to some of the stuff that did make it on. Instead a Jackie Lomax version of the song was released by Apple. Always considered the Jackie Lomax version hurried and the very antithesis of what George was trying to get at in the lyrics. The more laid-back Confusion Boats' version was inspired by the band Wire, where minimalism and no guitar solos are two fundamental stylistic rules. Vocals are done by Adrian Bourgeois, and unexpectedly turned out to be eerily, uncannily similar to George Harrison's voice, so it adds an especially interesting dimension to the song. So in a way the song comes out sounding a bit like one possible answer to the question, "What would Sour Milk Sea have sounded like if it did make it onto the White Album?"
